So it makes sense that when Tessa's dad relocates them from New York City to Chatswin, she immediately goes into culture shock. Suddenly, her gritty style no longer makes her blend in with the crowd and, for the first time in her life, she's the odd one out. After all, she keeps telling herself, in two years she can go back to Manhattan. But when the mother of the most popular girl in school takes a keen interest in Tessa's dad, all bets are suddenly off.
